How do I qualify for a home insulation grant?

You may be unaware that there is two different ways to qualify using the ECO scheme and that if you are not in receipt of the certain benefits below, there is also the local authority flexibility scheme to consider.

HHCRO (Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligations)

You could be eligible for ECO if you receive at least one of the following benefits:

  • Child Benefit
  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Income Support
  • Tax Credits (Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits)
  • Universal Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension Credit Saving Credit

Local Authorities Flexibility Scheme

Local councils are also able to refer residents in their areas to be eligible for the ECO scheme. This can help to include help for both rented and homeowners, if one of the following applies:

  • Low Income
    (Less than £31,000 per annum)
  • Health Conditions exacerbated by the Cold
(Respiratory Conditions, Cardiovascular Conditions, Immunosuppressed and Limited Mobility)
  • Fuel Poverty
(Living in high heating costs, with low income)
