Useful Information
Are You Satisfied with Your Home Heating?
Are you currently satisfied with how your home is heated? Does your property contain a modern heating system or do you rely upon outdated methods such as night storage tanks? If so, you are likely losing a great deal of money. Night storage systems are notorious for requiring a vast amount of electricity to function. Furthermore, it is often very difficult to achieve the desired temperature. Some rooms will be too hot while others remain noticeably cold. One of the best ways to address these issues is through a First Time Central Heating (FTCH) grant.
The UK’s insulation grants, such as ECO scheme, are government schemes funded by the UK’s largest utility companies, including the so-called ‘Big Six’. These companies are duly obliged to offer grants that can help those in need to enhance the energy efficiency of their homes for good, without costing you a penny.
The grants available with the ECO scheme and LA Flex funding tend to cover many different types of insulation, depending on your property age and type. This includes cavity wall and loft insulation, as well as first time central heating and boiler replacements.
What is a First Time Central Heating Grant?
A First Time Central Heating Grant is a programme developed by the government and designed to help households that might not be able to afford a timely heating upgrade. This is actually part of a larger stimulus package that takes into account the status of the insulation throughout your home (sometimes known as the First Time Central Heating ECO3 programme).
The main intention is to provide property owners with a more comfortable living environment while limiting the carbon footprint of their homes. In other words, you will save money on heating costs while helping the environment. The only question left involves if you might be able to qualify. This is when the central heating surveys provided by Lifetime Savings will come in quite handy.
How Can I Qualify for A Heating Grant?
There are several variables which will be examined during a central heating survey. The first involves the current state of your heating system and if it is functioning properly. Our team will then look at your financial status. This applies to landlords, homeowners and private renters. Those who are already receiving qualifying benefits may be eligible. Here are some other programmes which could qualify you for a first time central heating grant:
-
- Standard Child Benefit (£20per week)
- Pension Guarantee Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income Support
